Aux Fils De L'Arz/ Minoterie 21 Residency
Peilliac, Brittany, France, 2024
A two week long weaving residency in Peilliac, Brittany, France with Aux Fils De L’Arz Weaving Studio and co-ordinated and funded by Contemporary Art Residency Programme and Art Association Minoterie 21 in September 2024. The residency consisted of one week intensive handloom weaving course with Master Weaver Bruno Le Steven on an eight shaft loom, followed by one week of open weaving upon the handlooms to create new works.
Jenny created a series of woven reliefs using a range twill and weaves with recycled textiles and off cuts from the weaving studios as inlays to create a soft, tactile and animal like frame around the edge with symbolic motif in the centre.
